Washington State Board of Health to Meet in Spokane on April 10;
The DOH Vaccine Advisory Committee to meet on April 11;
Both are hybrid in-person/online meetings
Last Month, the Washington State Board of Health (BOH) held its March meeting in Anacortes. For April, instead of meeting at its regular state capital or Tumwater locations, the board takes to the road again and will meet in Spokane on Wednesday, April 10.
The meeting will be at the Spokane Public Library, 906 West Main Avenue in the Central Events A and B rooms. It will start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 4:15 p.m.
At 10:45, the Department of Health (DOH) will be giving its first update of the year. Normally, DOH Chief Science Officer Tao Kwan-Gett and/or Secretary of Health Umair Shah give the update. This time, however, Scott Lindquist, the State Medical Epidemiologist for Communicable Diseases (reporting to Tao Kwan-Gett) will provide the update.
Public comments are from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m.

The physical location is not yet published, nor is the agenda, but it is most likely at the DOH in Tumwater.
UW Professor’s Role in the Global Censorship Cartel
In case you missed it (like most of us did), the March 24th episode of “60 Minutes” aired The Right to be Wrong, interviewed Professor Kate Starbird, a University of Washington “misinformation expert.”
Since we missed it, and because we didn’t want to watch the replay with all the pharmaceutical ads, we turned to Blaze Media and summarize their coverage of the details left out of this mainstream media conservative hit-piece that also interviewed Rep. Jim Jordan and Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The Blaze article began with the following:
CBS News' "60 Minutes" recently boosted the grievances of activists who fancy themselves online narrative curators, including so-called "misinformation expert" Kate Starbird, the cofounder of the University of Washington's Center for an Informed Public.
In its criticism of Starbird, The Blaze did not add that UW’s Center for an Informed Public (CIP) is listed as one of the top fifty organization in the global censorship cartel.
ICWA Weekly News ran a story on the CIP in its August 8, 2023 issue. To recap: on May 10, 2023, The Racket published an in-depth article on the Censorship Industrial Complex, and then on July 28, The Exposé published an overview of that story as a starter kit to the top fifty organizations in the global censorship cartel.
The Cartel being referred to was diagrammed on 60 Minutes to show how highly involved it has been in flagging what they deem misinformation for social media companies as testified to the House Judiciary Committee by Michael Schellenberger.
In “The censorious partisan” section of The Blaze article, Starbird’s obvious biases are revealed:
The liberal news outfit neglected to mention that Starbird is a radical partisan, a Biden donor, and a recipient of Biden administration grants who has collaborated with the Biden Department of Homeland Security on efforts to shut down speech deemed undesirable by the powers that be.
The Daily Caller highlighted that Starbird ran lead on a narrative-curing project that secured $2.25 million from the National Science Foundation in August 2021. The stated purpose of the initiative was to "study ways to apply collaborative, rapid-response research to mitigate online disinformation."
Upon receipt of the grant, Starbird said in a statement, "Working to advance scientific understanding of online disinformation, this research will develop and evaluate 'rapid response' methods for studying and communicating about disinformation at a sophistication and pace on par with the dynamic and interdisciplinary nature of the challenge."
Starbird was named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed last year by Jim Hoft of the Gateway Pundit and Jill Hines, codirector of the conservative Health Freedom Louisiana group, whose criticism of mask wearing was suppressed on Facebook. Starbird is also referenced in Murthy v. Missouri, the case concerning the Biden administration's efforts to have Americans censored online now before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Hoft and Hines' complaint alleged that Starbird and other personnel from her organization were involved in "probably the largest mass-surveillance and mass-censorship program in American history — the so-called “Election Integrity Partnership” and “Virality Project.”

The complaint further claimed that Starbird's UW lab secured the aforementioned $2.25 million grant "just months after Starbird's lab helped censor the Biden Administration's political adversary during the 2020 election."
Starbird served as a member of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Cybersecurity Advisory Committee. She apparently also ran lead on the CISA task force "Protecting Critical Infrastructure from Misinformation and Disinformation."
CISA, a component of the Department of Homeland Security, is accused along with other prongs of the Biden administration in Murthy v. Missouri of violating Americans' First Amendment rights online.
Last year, Mike Benz, executive director of the Foundation for Freedom Online, shared a video from Starbird detailing how to kill or curate narratives on Twitter.
In a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Mike Benz also talked about Starbird’s role at University of Washington, which Benz dubbed “Bill Gates University.”
But the next institution was the University of Washington, which is essentially the Bill Gates University in Seattle who is headed by Kate Starbird, who is basically three generations of military brass who got a PhD in crisis informatics, essentially doing social media surveillance for the Pentagon and getting DARPA funding and working essentially with the national security state, then repurposed to take on mail-in ballots.
Earlier in the interview, Benz told Carlson that UW was one of four institutions involved in a United States mass censorship campaign:
…in order to pre-censor the ability to dispute the legitimacy of mail-in ballots.
And here's how they did this. They aggregated four different institutions. Stanford University, the University of Washington, a company called Graphica and the Atlantic Council. Now all four of these institutions, the centers within them were essentially Pentagon cutouts you had at the Stanford Air Observatory. It was actually run by Michael McFaul, if you know Michael McFaul. He was the US ambassador to Russia under the Obama administration, and he personally authored a seven step playbook for how to successfully orchestrate a color revolution. And part of that involved maintaining total control over media and social media juicing up the civil society outfits, calling elections illegitimate.
Benz went on to show how all this worked into the COVID-19 narrative with the aforementioned Virality Project covered in The Blaze article:
There are over sixty universities now who get federal government grants to do the censorship work … the same way they did for ISIS. They did this, for example, with COVID. They created these COVID lexicons of what dissident groups were saying about mandates, about masks, about vaccines, about high profile individuals like Tony Fauci or any of these protected VIPs and individuals whose reputations had to be protected online.
And they created these code books, they broke things down into narratives. The Atlanta Council, for example, was a part of this government funded consortium, something called the Virality Project, which mapped sixty different narratives that dissidents we're talking about around COVID, everything from COVID origins to vaccine efficacy. And then they broke down these 66 claims into all the different factual sub claims. And then they plugged these into these essentially machine learning models to be able to have a constant world heat map of what everybody was saying about COVID. And whenever something started to trend that was bad for what the Pentagon wanted or was bad for what Tony Fauci wanted, they were able to take down tens of millions of posts.
On his website, Benz had much more to say about Starbird’s efforts while leading the CIP:
Starbird leads the Center for an Informed Public at the University of Washington, one of the four constituent organizations of the DHS-created censorship consortium known as the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP).
As FFO has detailed in previous reports, EIP took a leading role as a censorship laundering operation in the 2020 election, utilizing a “domestic disinformation switchboard” that allowed EIP to flag thousands of First Amendment protected posts on social media platforms and escalate them to content moderation departments for labeling or removal. Censored material included election related material that was widely discussed by American voters, including images of ballot counting trends.
The Center for an Informed Public, where Starbird is still director, is backed by American taxpayer dollars, via a $2.25 million grant awarded by the National Science Foundation in 2021.
CIP also received a founding grant of $5 million from the Knight Foundation, an organization which claims to support the very principle Starbird believes to be an ally of misinformation – freedom of speech. The foundation’s mission page states, “we believe in freedom of expression and in the values expressed in the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States,” including “funding free expression” as a core activity of the foundation.
Despite their public commitment to free speech, the Knight Foundation’s subsidiaries continue to defend Starbird and her collaborators at the DHS-created EIP. In a June 2023 press release, the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University condemned lawmakers for investigating EIP, saying it constituted an attempt to “intimidate and punish” researchers. The investigation of the EIP – an entity created at the behest of the government, which facilitated the widespread censorship of Americans online, and whose leading members condemn freedom of speech as a tool to spread misinformation – was, rather brazenly, characterized as an attack on free speech.
And now it looks as if legacy media’s CBS, well known to our readers as supporting the Pharmedia empire, is taking up the cause of defending the Censorship Industrial Complex, if not already acting as an essential part of it. Seriously, if you can find a replay of the Sunday March 24th episode, every other advertisement is for a pharmaceutical product.

Washington DOH Follows CDC Lead on COVID-19 Shots and Natural Immunity
On March 27, Sharyl Attkisson ran a follow-up story on the scandal of when Congressman Tom Massie caught the Center’s for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC) intentionally putting out false information - that studies showed COVID-19 shots were beneficial for those who’ve had a coronavirus infection. The misinformation remains in public health agency communications, making it a the three-year long scandal.
Sharyl explains how Tom Massie caught the CDC in the 2021 lie:
The CDC and its top vaccine advisers wrongly claimed that the original vaccine studies showed that there was a benefit to people getting vaccinated even if they’d already had Covid. Massie recorded his conversations as CDC officials admitted that wasn’t true, but balked at correcting it.
Last October, Massie asked the CDC to resolve to the continuing issues. More than three months after a deadline, the CDC responded, but avoided the question and simply stated that, “CDC issued numerous public health guidance documents specific to the differing needs of Americans. CDC continues to monitor COVID-19 to ensure that CDC guidance and recommendations reflect the most up-to-date science.”
On Attkisson’s program “Full Measure” Massie said, “The CDC letter is completely unresponsive to my particular questions. What are they trying to hide? We will find out.”

What are Washington agencies saying about getting shots after recovering from a coronavirus infection?
At the recent March 13 Washington Board of Health (BOH) meeting covered by the March 20 ICWA News, Department of Health (DOH) Chief Science Officer Tao Kwan-Gett said that while the DOH was looking at the CDC’s change in COVID-19 isolation guidelines, he added, “In the past, we’ve believed in staying in line with the CDC.”
The DOH stayed in line with the CDC isolation guidelines by treating Covid as the flu, and, true to form, it has also stayed in step with the CDC’s false claim that the COVID-19 shots are still good for those who have had an infection and acquired immunity.
How does our DOH make this claim?
They mechanically provide a link from their Covid-19 Vaccine Information Page directly to the CDC site:
Which, in turn, attempts to address the vaccination-after-infection-recovery question.
The last link opens an oft-cited study done on Kentucky data in April and May of 2021. Do we really need to remind them that was during a time when different strains of coronavirus were circulating, and different formulations of the EUA shots were available? Given all the broken promises on vaccine efficacy, it is flimsy at best for our agencies to make that recommendation today.
The DOH COVID-19 Emergencies FAQ page attempts to address the same question about post-infection vaccination. They ask “What is the difference between vaccination and immunity?”
Because we cannot rely on natural immunity to prevent reinfection or severe illness from COVID-19, being up to date on vaccination remains the best protection and primary strategy to prevent SARS-COV-2 infections, associated complications, and onward transmission.
This seems to be proof-positive that the DOH is happy to operate under the misinformation umbrella of the CDC. Is the DOH just a state-level promotion arm of the CDC, ill-equipped to perform any meaningful studies about federal ‘recommendations?’ They are very likely wait to correct their vaccination recommendations and acknowledgement of natural immunity before the CDC actually addresses Rep. Tom Massie’s queries.
